Kristy MacNevin has been teaching for 7 years. She taught at a Charter school in Minnesota for 5 years. While in Minnesota she taught third grade. She then moved to California with her husband, Jimmy and got a job at Hillcrest Academy, teaching third grade. When Hillcrest closed, Mrs. MacNevin moved to another charter school in Temecula and decided to move to teaching first grade. She ended up loving teaching first grade and was excited when Oakhill Academy opened and got to continue teaching first grade!
Mrs. MacNevin got her Bachelor’s Degree at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota. She taught for a couple years and decided she would love to get her Master’s Degree. She got her Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in reading from St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Mrs. MacNevin loves teaching for so many reasons. She loves the special bond she can create with students to help them love to learn and go to school. She really focuses on hands on learning to help the students not just get to listen to the information, but actually experience it for themselves. She enjoys finding new ways to teach kids to love reading as that is her favorite subject to teach. She enjoys helping the students, parents, and other staff each and every day. She is excited to come to work at Oakhill Academy each day!
Mrs. MacNevin is also an avid golfer.
