Performing Arts: Drama
Christopher Herlong is a graduate of New York University, TISCH School of the Arts with a BFA in Acting where he trained for three years at the Circle in the Square Theater Group and a year studying film acting at Stonestreet Studios. After graduation, Christopher trained two years at the Barrow Group in NYC.
Christopher’s approach to acting primarily follows the Meisner Technique where an action solicits a reaction. This technique requires an actor to be present and aware in the moment, and focused on their fellow actors. This is then combined with characterization, tasks to be completed within the scene, and interaction that resembles real life. Christopher will work with your students to help them gain control over their bodies, breath, voice, concentration, and emotional expression. The end goal is to transform your students into more confident, expressive, and audible communicators and public speakers.
Currently, Christopher shares his time as the Creative Director of Child Photo Magazine – an online resource to help parents of child models and actors connect with industry professionals looking for new talent; and CEO of Studio Five Productions – a company in development, producing Live Action Cinema.
Christopher is an Eagle Scout and a Louisiana native. He loves to cook, travel, play, and spend time with his family. Christopher has 3 children at Oakhill – a daughter in 8th grade and identical twin boys in 5th grade. Christopher is also the President of Oakhill Academy’s PTSA. He is very happy to be part of the Oakhill family and feels privileged to work among an elite team of educators.
