The Need for Giving
Private schools do not receive the annual funds that public schools receive and student tuition is not enough to pay for everything a school needs. Private schools generally rely heavily on donations and fundraising to stay afloat. As a small, non-profit, private school with a student base of less than a hundred, we too rely heavily on donations.
The school administration has made a conscious decision to minimize the pressure placed on our families to raise money for the school. Instead of requiring our students to participate in many fundraisers throughout the year, they have decided to focus on fundraising through PTSA-sponsored events open to the public, such as our Annual Fall Festival.
An Opportunity for Giving
Cash donations are always welcome and allow the school to put funds towards items they feel require priority attention.
Student Scholarships allow high-performing students from families in financial need to benefit from our program. Oakhill already offers a handful of scholarships per grade, but you can help us offer a scholarship to even more students.
Field Study Scholarships
A big part of the Oakhill experience is our Field Studies Program where students have an opportunity for hands-on-learning through field trips, activities, and cultural experiences. Our Middle School students attend trips to Rome and Washington DC. Some of these trips are thousands of dollars per student and is an extra cost to the families. Because of this, not all students are able to attend. A Field Study Scholarship would allow these students in financial need to attend these valuable cultural learning experiences with their fellow classmates. You can help ensure that no one is left behind.
Old Town Christmas Parade Parking
Oakhill opens up its’ parking lots during the Old Town Christmas Parade and other select events. The funds raised through admission helps the 7th and 8th grades attend their larger Field Studies trips. When you’re headed to Old Town for this event, please consider parking in our lot for the benefit of our students.
Annual Fall Festival
The Oakhill PTSA hosts an amazing Fall Festival, featuring food, entertainment, vendor booths, games, STEAM-related activities, a Nerf Zone, and an 1,100 square foot scare maze designed specifically for children of all ages. All funds raised go directly to the Oakhill PTSA. All types of donations are welcome for this event, including building materials and hardware, time and labor, food, prizes, and operating capital. Additionally, we are happy to welcome entertainers and vendors by application. Come out for a fun day and support our school!
School supplies are vital to a school’s operation and we are happy to accept anything you can offer. This includes, but is not limited to, paper, pencils, craft supplies, and basic office/classroom supplies.
Reading is a huge priority at Oakhill and our students are voracious readers. We are attempting to build up our main Library along with our grade-specific classroom libraries. We will gladly accept ALL books that you are ready to throw out.
Oakhill is committed to seamlessly integrating technology with learning. However, as a new school, we need a lot more equipment than we currently have. We are looking for Google Chromebooks, tablets, software packages, projectors, speakers, creative technology, and much more. Oakhill would also very much like to obtain a 3D printer.
As art dwindles from other schools, we are ramping up our Visual Arts program. We are seeking endless art supplies, including canvases, paints, drawing materials, framing materials, and easels.
We are in desperate need of a large amount and a wide variety of wind and stringed musical instruments for ages 4 – 15. All of our existing instruments are currently on loan.
Theater Productions, Costumes and Props
Do you have any old costumes or period clothing that you are ready to throw out? Do you have furniture that you are ready to replace? Are you about to do some Spring cleaning and put all your junk into a garage sale? First consider donating your “production-worthy” items to our Drama department. As our school is new, our costume/prop storage is pretty empty. We also need storage bins, shelving units, hanging racks, and clothes hangers. Additionally, we could use any and all help to retrofit our stage with a new light and sound system, and a new curtain. The show must go on!
Local Business Support of Our Gala
Each Spring, the Oakhill PTSA hosts an annual fundraising Gala with a silent and live auction. The success of this event relies heavily on our ability to secure auction-able donations from local businesses. Please contact us if you are a local business or know of a local business who would like to help.
Current PTSA Fundraising Goal
The PTSA’s fundraising goal this year was to raise $12,000 for a school bus. This important purchase will not only help transport children in need to and from school, but it will also allow us to increase enrollment within communities outside of Temecula. Furthermore, it will serve to safely transport our students to the many field trips, activities, and cultural experiences that are part of their field studies at Oakhill, removing the heavy reliance on parents to be driving chaperones.
